The family of Wayne”Tatip” McGilvery of Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta is deeply saddened to announce his passing in Wetaskiwin on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the age of 61 years.
Tatip is lovingly survived by his children: Barbara Stanley (Oliver Memnook) of Frog Lake, AB, Ryan Stanley (Kristy Auigbelle) of Edmonton, AB, Sherry Greene of Edmonton, AB, Miranda Greene of Maskwacis, AB; grandchildren: Darcy, Tyi, Tristen, Makayla, Sharon, Kallaal, Zayda, Alison, Luveah, Kenai, Shawna, Philip, Natalie, Nicole, Carol, Illyana, Keegan, Kayla (James), Harmony, Mercedie, Zackery, Sierra, Silas, Xzyler, Zarran, Evan Greene, Creelyn Greene; great grandchildren: Mayla, Charlie, Windy; great grandchildren Wayne raised: Jennifer, Autumn, Aundre Greene; brothers: Cary McGilvery, Glen (Debbie) Moosewah, Darcy (Shannon) McGilvery, Jason McGilvery, Ferlin McGilvery; sisters: Lorretta Moosewah, Julia Cryer; Aunt: Marlene Cabry; brothers-in-law: Dennis Greene, Council SCN Kurt Buffalo, Elroy Strawberri-Rain, Melcolm Cabry, Mike Philippo; sisters-in-law: Alvina Greene, Lillian Nepoose, Glenda Buffalo; niece: Shawna McGilvery. Loved by many in Maskwacis, AB families, Extended Greene, Cabry, Buffalo, Neposse, Rabbit and extended families in Maskwacis, Hope Mission Shelter and Open doors in Wetaskiwin, AB; as well as numerous other relatives.
Tatip will be going into the arms of his spouse: Gail Greene; children: Darcy McGilvery, Nolan Stanley, Adrian Greene, Corrie Greene, Wally Greene; parents: Donald & Annette McGilvery; sisters: Martha Philippo, Irene McGilvery, Jeanett McGilvery; brothers: Leslie, Carl, Joe & Roy McGilvery; niece: Lynette Dion; nephew: Nicholas McGilvery.
Wake, Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta. (leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, AB at 11:00 a.m.)
Funeral Service, Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta with Pastor Linda Burns officiating. Pallbearers: Ryan Stanley, Tyi Stanley, Joey Cardinal, Glen Moosewah, Henry Dion, Bobby Moosewah. Final Resting Place, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta.
