Troy Allan Desjarlais

The family of Troy Allen Desjarlais of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan is saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the age of 46 years.

Troy is survived by his wife: Evelyn Moostoos; two children: Marlo Oseemeemow, Leedia Moostoos; brothers: Terry Desjarlais, Bryan Desjarlais, Kevin Desjarlais, Kenny Anderson, Roland Desjarlais, Mathew Desjarlais, Curtis Anderson; sisters: Brenda Desjarlais, Sarah Anderson, Jodi Ochuschayoo; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and extended family.

Troy was predeceased by his mother: Linda Anderson; father: Roland Desjarlais; brothers: Shawn Benson, Lucas Desjarlais, Johnathon  Amos Desjarlais; grandparents: Albert & Gertrude Desjarlais, Adlph & Gldys Anderson; grandma: Mary Blyan.

Wake, Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Big Island Lake Band Hall, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake, Alberta at 10:00 a.m.

Funeral Service, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Big Island Lake Band Hall, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan with Claude Desjarlais, Fred and Alvina Thunderchild officiating; cremation to follow. Pallbearers: David Mitsuing, Junior Moostoos, Ross Ochuschayoo, Gary Wahpistikwan, Allan Chief, Patrick Sandfly. Final Resting Place, Big Island Lake Cemetery, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan to take place at a later date.
