Sonya Houle Obituary
The family of Sonya Alice Houle of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan is deeply saddened to announce her unexpected passing on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the age of 39 years.
Sonya is lovingly survived by her adopted son: Damon Kiseyinewakup; siblings: Darryl Kiseyinewakup, Jennifer (Vince) Cardinal, Felicia (Kevin) Houle, Sherry (Earl) Houle, Christopher (Salina) Houle, Clinton (Sheila) Blackface, Lee (Mildred) Blackface; as well as many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Sonya is going into the arms of her siblings: Marshal Kiseyinewakup, Silas Houle, Ricky Delver, Trina Blackface; parents; Felix & Cecile Irene Houle; maternal grandparents: Nancy Sandfly (Kiseyinewakup) & Cyprien Henry Bighead; paternal grandparents: Matthew & Alice Houle.
Wake, Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., Big Island Lake Band Hall, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake, Alberta at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral Service, Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., Big Island Lake Band Hall, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, with Linda Burns and Band Elders officiating. Pallbearers: Billy Cardinal, Micheal Littlespruce, Jerry Kiseyinewakup, Jonathan Benson, Arnold Houle, Raymond Houle.
Final resting place, Big Island Lake Cemetery, Big Island Lake, Saskatchewan.
