Shirley Catherine (Smith) Heurkens

The family of Shirley Catherine Heurkens of Cherry Grove, Alberta announces her unexpected passing on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the age of 62 years.

Shirley will be forever loved and remembered by her husband of 38 years: Michael Heurkens; children: Nathan (Catherine “Cat”), Isaac (Michelle), Joel; granddaughter: Claire; sister: Carolyn (Don) Smith-Green; brother- in-law: Martin (Geraldine) Heurkens.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents: George & Catherine Smith; parents- in-law: Cornelus & Willy Heurkens; brother-in-law: Reinard "Ron" Heurkens.

Funeral Service, Saturday October 5, 2024 at  11:00 a.m. at Cherry Grove Recreation & Agricultural Society Hall, Cherry Grove, Alberta with Bishop Steven Wille officiating, (those wishing to pay their respects may do so in the Senior Centre Room from 10:00 a.m.to 10:50  a.m.). Pallbearers: Nathan Heurkens, Isaac Heurkens, Ted Dahr, Tim Sveinson, Paul Mossey, Don Green.

Final resting place, Cherry Grove Community Cemetery, Cherry Grove, Alberta.

Shirley’s family request all guests in attendance of the Funeral Service to refrain from wearing black clothing and instead please wear “Bright, Happy Colours.”
