Sandra (née Prokopyshen) Bullock

With grateful hearts for a life well lived, the family of Sandra Bullock of Cold Lake, Alberta is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their cherished wife, mother, daughter & sister on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the age of 57 years.

Leaving to mourn with precious memories is her common law husband of 10 years: Doug MacDonald; daughter: Brooklyn Bullock; mother: Lucille Prokopyshen; brother: Jerry (Cindy) Prokopyshen; sister: Pauline Prokopyshen (Bruce Manuel); special uncle: Frank Prokopyshen (Nancy); treasured kitty: Pepper; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Sandra was predeceased by her father: Joe Prokopyshen; uncle; Walter Prokopyshen; aunty: Margaret Prokopyshen; uncle: John Prokopyshen; uncle: Pete Prokopyshen; uncle: Jack and aunty: Mary MacDonald.

Sandra was born in Edmonton, Alberta on December 6, 1967. Sandra followed Doug's career in the military that took them to Ottawa, ON; Comox, BC; Ferrara, Italy; Moose Jaw, SK; and Cold Lake, AB.

Sandra was known for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She enjoyed puzzles, card games and was always happiest whenever she was with animals and near water.

Sandra's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sam Ubaukoh, Nurse Tanya Kettle and all the nurses on the 3rd floor of the Cold Lake Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit led by Cabri Miller-Nielson and Jessica, as well as all the assistants who came to her home daily and allowed Sandra the care and comfort to spend her time at home with her family.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.

As per Sandra's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Sandra's life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in memory of Sandra may be sent to the MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre, PO Box 415, Merville, B.C., V0R 2M0. Sandra's last hope is that everyone gets along. She has always been a supporter of peace and happiness in life, especially when it comes to animals.
