Ronald Kenneth Scott of St. Lina, Alberta, passed away suddenly on September 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Peterborough, Ontario, raised in Millbrook, Ontario, and resided in many towns throughout his lifetime.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elaine (née Johnston); his children, Kimberley, Allan (Laura), and Amber (Jonathan), from his first marriage to Laurie (née Hygaard); and his stepdaughter, Kimberly (Tom). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Krystine, Kaela, Madalyn (Andrew), Megan (George), Maxwell (Mackenzie), Eli, and Amelia, Mary (Gabe) and Matthew (Jonelle); and a cherished great-grandfather. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Alice (née Baxter)
Music was a defining passion in Ron’s life. Whether strumming his Gibson guitar, steel picking on his pedal steel, or sharing country and gospel songs, he brought joy and warmth to everyone who heard him play. Known for his kindness, calm presence, wisdom, and gentle humour, Ron also took pride tending his gardens and taking on projects around the house. He had a remarkable gift for working with his hands—though his family often teased him about his true expertise as a “professional thumb twiddler."
His spirit will live on in the love he gave his family, the laughter he inspired, and the music that will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at the Glendon Evangelical Church, on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
