Rita Marie (Dery) Baik

It is with heart-felt sadness that the family of Rita Marie Baik nee Dery announces her passing peacefully in Bonnyville on Saturday January 8, 2022, at the age of 88 years.  Rita is lovingly survived by her five children: Elaine (Ron) Rusnak of Bonnyville, Daniel (Angie) Baik of St. Albert, Ronald (Laurel) Baik of Spruce Grove, JoAnne Baik of Bonnyville, Janet Baik (Clayton Mosier) of Edmonton; daughter-in-law: Carol Corneau of Manitoulin Island, ON; four grandchildren: Danielle (Ryley) Middagh, Jillian Rusnak, Brandon Baik (Annika Vidad-Baik), Anthony Baik (Athena Fedorus); great granddaughter: Kayci Middagh; sisters: Therese (Bill) Robbins of Edmonton; and Lorraine (Walter) Chyz of Bonnyville, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rita was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years Walter Baik; her son: Richard Baik; parents: Narcisse and Cordelia Dery; brother: Emile Dery; and three sisters: Helena Zeleny, Lucille King and Marguerite Cooper.

Mass of Christian Burial, by invitation only, will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Bonnyville, AB with Father Rene Realuyo as Celebrant.  Those wishing to watch the service may do so by clicking the video tab below.
