While reflecting on a lifetime of beautiful memories, the family of Melva Jean Hayward of Cold Lake, Alberta announces her passing on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the age of 85 years.
Melva is lovingly remembered by her sons: Rod (Darcy) Hayward, Randy (Rita) Hayward; daughter: Kathleen Hayward (Wolf Hubman); grandchildren: Curtis, Audrey, Jennifer, Jesse, Becky, Ashley, Amber; treasured great grandchildren: Tannis, Alora, Isabella, Riley, Landon, Beth, Beniah, Shaylee, Carter, Liara, Riley Jade, Ella, Denver, Avery; sisters: Myrna Hawkins, Donna (Brian) Jesso, Darlene Larson; brother: Bill (Audrey) Vancoughnett; Melva will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
After many years, Melva is now reunited with all those who went before her; beloved husband, Roland “Rollie” Hayward; sons: Brian Hayward, Rocky Hayward, Melvin Hayward; parents: Melvin & Kathleen Vancoughnett; grandson: Brian Harrison; siblings: Laurelle (Don) Oulette, Keith (Marlene) Vancoughnett, Diane (Murray) Steeves.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love lives on in the family she built, the memories she gave us, and the traditions she leaves behind; she will be forever loved, deeply missed and never forgotten.
Celebration of Life, Friday, July 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harbour Light Alliance Church, Cold Lake, Alberta with Pastor Jeff Manwarren officiating.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for Melva with such compassion during her final days.
