Lois Mabel (Scraba) Sheplawy

It is with sadness that the family of Lois Sheplawy announces her passing on September 20, 2021 in Bonnyville, AB.

In the community of Elk Point and surrounding areas many knew Lois as the “needle lady”, with her long standing career as an RN and as the public health nurse of over 30 years. Amongst her career, she also had the privilege of working at Morning Sky Wellness Centre for several years. Lois whom was affectionately called “holubka”, mom, baba, sister and friend will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, 11 months Zane, two sons Dwayne of Elk Point, AB and Shaun (Laura) of Bonnyville, AB and one granddaughter Norah of Bonnyville, AB. Her siblings Jean Edwards of Edmonton, AB, Evangeline (Tom) Munns of Kingcity, ON, Marion (Malcolm) Bibby of Calgary, AB, Ernie Scraba of Vernon, BC, Diane (George) Anderson of Elk Point, AB and Gail (Ross) Farewell of Pigeon Lake, AB along with numerous nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her parents Nikolay (Nick) and Vera (nee Cholak) Scraba of Elk Point, AB.

Family & friends are invited to pay their respects between 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville.  Due to COVID 19 capacity restrictions, please pre-register your visitation by calling Memento Funeral Chapel 780-826-3113 between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or by clicking the RSVP button below.

A private family Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021.  Final resting place, Elk Point East Cemetery, Elk Point, AB.  Family & friends are welcome to attend the graveside service around 2:15 p.m.
