Lise Holeton Obituary

In 1969, Lise married Richard "Dick" Ralph Holeton. In 1972 they had their daughter, Sarah and then son, Jonathan in 1975. In October, 1973 they moved to St. Paul when Dick joined the law firm of Rene P. Foisy.

When they moved to St. Paul, Lise immediately got involved with the community. She founded and became the artistic director of Les Blés D’Or dance troupe that performed all over the country and world. She was also involved with "La Société Historique Heritage Franco-Albertain", Society of Parents for French Education, the St. Paul District and Park Development and the Society for the Preservation of its Franco-Alberta Heritage. As one of the board of directors for the Alberta Foundation for the Performing Arts with Sir Tommy Banks, she was involved in granting KD LANG her first funding to pursue her music dreams that have since seen her become an International singer/songwriter.

Lise was recognized for her efforts to promote multiculturism with tolerance and understanding the diversity and cultures that made our community so vibrant.  She strongly advocated on behalf of the francophone community for their children’s rights to a French education.

She was a true artist with a passion for gourmet cooking, dance, music and anything she could create with her hands. She exuded kindness, generosity, selflessness, devotion and boundless love for her family. She touched the hearts of everyone who met her, helping them believe in themselves and to always reach for the stars. Our tiny Lise left a huge imprint on the world. She will not be forgotten.

Lise is lovingly survived by her husband: Dick Holeton; two children: Sarah (Derek), Jonathan (Arla); two grand-daughters: Émélie & Lillian McCaughey; two step-grand children: Michiru & Mazaki Okamura; sister: Ruth Berthiaume; brother: Gilles Lefebvre (Micheline); nephew: Jonathan Berthiaume (Asha).

The family would like to thank the wonderful care she received from the staff at the J.P Decosse. Auxiliary, St. Paul.

A Celebration of Life, where we can all come together to remember Lise, will take place at a later date, once COVID-19 restrictions ease. We have created a Facebook page in her memory: https://www.facebook.com/groups/liseholeton
