It is with heartfelt sorrow and much love that the family of Levi Scotty Makokis "Okimāw Kihēs" of Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta announces his passing on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the age of 39 years.
Levi will be forever remembered by his common-law partner: Hailey Paul; children: Alora Makokis, Mattie Makokis, Levi Roan Jr. Makokis, Orrin MacDonald, Kona Makokis, Phoenix Paul; father: Dick Makokis; mother: Linda Makokis; adopted parents: Dennis & Eva Cardinal; siblings: Kim (Adrien) Pearson, Renèe Makokis, Dickie (Amber) Makokis, Maggie (Andre) Picard, Shauna (Ty) Makokis, Mitch (Dana) Makokis, Thunder (Trish) Makokis, Josh (Emry) White, Blue Sky (Carmine) Makokis, Trevor (Michelle) Makokis.
Levi is going into the arms of his daughter: Hailey Mae Oka; niece: Morning Star Makokis; maternal grandparents: Joe & Maggie Moosewah; paternal grandparents: Alphonse & Margaret Makokis; as well as numerous aunties, uncles and relatives from the Moosewah and Makokis families.
A private Funeral Service will be held. Traditional ceremony: Jimmy Pipe; Pallbearers: Tyra Jackson, Boss McGilvery, Ty Lizotte, Trevor Makokis, Josh White, Donovan Waskahat, Donovan Whitestone, Creighton Janvier, Carmine Saskatchewan, Adrien Pearson; honourary pallbearers: Lumberjack & Violet Cardinal and family, Les & Gwen Munro and family, Robert & Gloria McGilvery, Phil & Evelyn Hunter, Penny & Stacy McGilvery, Kendra, Kassandra, Kerricia & Ashley McGilvery, Jewel Moosewah, all his adopted handgame family, all his friends and loved ones.
