It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Leona Ellen Ohland of Cold Lake, Alberta announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the age of 74 years old.
Leona will be forever loved and remembered by her husband of over 54 years: Ernie Ohland; loving daughter: Shelley Belanger & spouse, Dan Beliveau; four cherished grandchildren: Jenny Belanger, Matthew Belanger, Rebecca Ohland, Robyn Thompson; precious great grandchild: William Thompson.
Leona was predeceased by her son: Chuck Ohland in 2004 & granddaughter: Randi Lynn Ohland in 1994.
Leona was very active in a number of family businesses. These included the start-up of “Bonnyville Water Conditioning” in 1979; a very successful, “Water Treatment Service Business” in Lloydminster; an active, “Oilpatch Commercial Water Treatment Service Company” in Slave Lake and a “Hot Tub, Pool Table Store” in Cold Lake called “Games N Stuff”.
When living in Bonnyville, Leona was an active member of the Bonnyville Lioness and the Lions clubs.
She moved to Cold Lake to retire but that was short lived as she decided to open up a small fabric store called “Your Sewing Store”. She managed the store until age and health forced her to retire a second time.
Public Visitation, Friday, April 22, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake, Alberta.
Private, Family Graveside Service, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. John’s United Church Cemetery, Bonnyville, Alberta.
