It is with broken hearts that the family of Kai Kristine Hunter of Edmonton, Alberta announces her quietly passing with family by her side on July 18, 2025 at the age of 10 years.
Kai will be forever remembered and loved by her mother: Kaylee McConnell of McRae; father: Layne Hunter of Edmonton; sister: Kaydence Hunter of Edmonton; maternal kôhkom: Loretta McConnell; papa: Roy Gladue; paternal grandparents: Louise Hunter, Leonard Moosewah; aunties: Fyrne, Gabrielle, Kayla, Renee; uncle: Derek; Godmothers: Sally Houle, Danty Lexie (Carson); special cousin: Dayton; câpâns: Gloria, Maggie, Marianne; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Kai was predeceased by câpâns: Miles & Caroline, Louie, Bill; and her aunty: Kristine.
Wake, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Pakan School, Goodfish Lake, Alberta. Will be leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral Service, Saturday, July 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Pakan School, Goodfish Lake, Alberta, with Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Pallbearers: Carson Shirt, Dayton Shirt, Tyler Shirt, Kaileb Houle, Derek Gladue, Byron Steinhauer. Final resting place: Hilltop Cemetery, Goodfish Lake, Alberta.
Kai’s family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Hornberger, the Stollery Children’s Hospital staff, the staff of Mazankowski Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, staff of Baturyn School, and Ms. Candace for their compassionate care.
