With broken hearts, the family of Juanita Dixie Wahpistikwan of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan announces her unexpected passing on Friday, July 11, 2025, just 4 days before she would have celebrated her 26th birthday.
Juanita is loving survived by her cherished children: Rashad Oseemeemow & Mariah Wahpistikwan; parents: Jolene Wahpistikwan & Darryl Kiseyinewakup; brothers: Damon Kiseyinewakup, Dawson Wahpistikwan, Morgan Wahpistikwan; sisters: Jasmine Wahpistikwan, Ciara Wahpistikwan, Shanae Wahpistikwan, Jenna Wahpistikwan, Darlynn Kiseyinewakup; kôhkom: Elizabeth Wahpistikwan; mosôms: Joseph Wahpistikwan, Lawrence Crookedneck; câpâns: Violet Wahpistikwan, Moise Littlespruce, Charlie Wahpistikwan, Martha Wahpistikwan, Agnes Wahpistikwan; aunties: Sherry Houle, Felicia Houle, Jennifer Houle, Jenny Wahpistikwan, Jessica Wahpistikwan, Mabel Ochuschayoo, Donna Partridge; uncles: Christopher Houle, Stacey Wahpistikwan, Ross Ochuschayoo, Roland Ochuschayoo; as well as many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Funeral Service, Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., Big Island Lake Band Hall, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan with the Band Elders officiating. Drum Group: Clifford Ochuschayoo, Frankie C., Leon Sandfly. Pallbearers: Archie Jr. Sundown, Tye Kiseyinewakup, Blair Kiseyinewakup, Ronald Mitsuing, Jerry Kiseyinewakup, Morley Ochuschayoo. Honorary Pallbearers: everyone who knew and loved Juanita. Final Resting Place, Big Island Lake Cemetery, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.
