Joffre "Jeff" Hamel

With grateful hearts for a life well lived, the family of Joffre "Jeff" Hamel of Bonnyville, Alberta announces the peaceful passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the age of 82 years.

Leaving to mourn, with a lifetime of cherished memories, is his wife of 58 years: Janis Hamel; daughters: Heather Hamel (Daniel Deacon), Melanie Hamel (Greg Speitelsbach), Caroline Hamel (Trevor Kawata); treasured granddaughter: Arianna Kawata; sister: Georgette Hamel; as well as a large circle of friends and extended family members.

Jeff was predeceased by his parents: Josephat "Joe" & Jeanne Hamel; brothers: Reginald Hamel, Laurier Hamel, Gaston Hamel, Raymond Hamel.

Public Visitation, Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. -  6:00 p.m., Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville, Alberta.

Funeral Service, Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., (eulogy to begin at 10:45 a.m.) St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Bonnyville, Alberta with Father Rene Realuyo officiating. For those wishing  to view Jeff's service, you may do so by live-stream on Memento's website. A recording of the service will also be made available.

Jeff will be laid to rest with a private, family inurnment at Holy Family Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bonnyville, Alberta.
