With great sadness and broken hearts, the family of Jerrica Ann Kahpoonapit of Big Island Lake Cree Nation,  Saskatchewan announces her passing on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the age of 28 years.

Jerrica is lovingly survived by her common law: Carlyle Waterhen; parents: Judith Kahpoonapit & Ernest Sundown; adopted daughter: Leanna Rose Kahpoonapit; brothers: Ernie Sundown, Katlin Sundown, Samson Sundown; sisters: Carmen Kahpoonapit, Anastasia Sundown, Fiona Kahpoonapit, Brittany Kahpoonapit, Carley Kahpoonapit, Mallory Kahpoonapit, Coda Sundown; grandmothers: Dorothy Sandfly, Alma Sandfly, Marlene Sandfly; uncles: Maurice Kahpoonapit, Glen Kahpoonapit; aunties: Beatrice Kahpoonapit, Jeanette Kahpoonapit, Linda Kahpoonapit; as well as many other aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jerrica was predeceased by her brothers: Jared Kahpoonapit, Seneca Sundown; sisters: Samantha Sundown, Tracy Kahpoonapit, Jade Kahpoonapit; grandparents: James & Marie Kahpoonapit, John & Marie Sundown; granddaughter: KeeAnna Sundown-Oppisinow; uncles: Richard Kahpoonapit, Clarence Kahpoonapit; aunties: Maryanne Sundown, Marina Kahpoonapit; nephews: Dominic Kahpoonapit, Cole Ahmeecheko; niece: Destinee Sundown; cousins: Maurice Kahpoonapit Jr., Cheyanne Cardinal.

Wake, Monday, June 30, 2025 at 4:00 p.m., Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville, Alberta at 3:00 p.m.

Funeral Service, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan with the Band Elders officiating. Pallbearers: Anthony Ernest, Zachery Ernest, Gerald Waterhen, Laurie Polsom, Matt Harper, Herbert Burns. Honorary Pallbearers: all of Jerrica's family & friends. Final Resting Place, Big Island Lake Cemetery, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.
