Henry Vasseur

It is with great sadness we announce Henry Laurent Vasseur passing on May 14, 2024 at the age of 92 years. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.

Born in Bonnyville on January 28, 1932 a twin of 4 children, he is survived by his wife Dianne of 47 years, his daughter Orvella(Tim), granddaughter Sharleen (Terry) and great granddaughter Sierra, his eldest sibling Rose and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Frederec and Olivine, his sister Alice and brother George, sister in law Mildred and daughter Debra.

Henry was born in Bonnyville in January 1932. His parents, Frederec and Olivine Vasseur and the 4 children grew up on the farm learning the value of hard work and the trade of planing lumber. The family moved from the North farm and settled at their home on Moose Lake where Henry spent the last 47 years with his devoted wife Dianne. Henry was a kind and considerate man crafting inventions for his business and building a successful business based on honesty and hard work.

Henry never really retired as his livelihood was his passion and he continued to work on his lumber planers until recent years when he could no longer work in his shop.

Most memorable was his hospitality and generousity but above all he was an amazing communicator. Sharing a story or two with anyone who would make the time to listen. His home was a place of Peaceful welcome for friends and family to share a coffee, cocktail ceasar, meal or two.

There was never enough time in a day to cover the conversations that could be shared.
