The family of George Allan Orlesky is saddened to announce his passing at the age of 80 years, at his residence in Cold Lake, Alberta on Friday, May 28, 2021 with his loving wife Leona by his side.
George was born in Pierceland, Saskatchewan and completed most of his schooling in Iron River, Alberta. He finished his high school years in Cold Lake, Alberta. He worked in the oilfield industry in Drayton Valley, Alberta for 25 years, and raised his family there.
George leaves behind his wife: Leona of Cold Lake, AB; two children: Rob (Shelly) Orlesky of Drayton Valley, AB, Stacey (Darcy) Robinson of Grand Cache, AB; six grandchildren: Robynn, Shaelynn, Taya & Juliana Orlesky, Colton & Cody Robinson; great grandson: Lucas; two sisters: Mary-Anne (Andy) Geoffrion of Calabogie, ON, Janis Boisvert of Hope, BC.
George was predeceased by his son: Mark; parents: John & Caroline Orlesky; sister: Carol (Francis) McLaughlin; mother of his children: Betty Badick.
George was a loving husband, father and friend. He had a passion for trapping on his trap line and hunting with his friends, Norm and Kim.
In 1997 George & Leona moved to the Okanogan where he loved to fish for salmon, construct willow furniture, garden and as well had many other hobbies. George also ran music jams weekly at the Legion where he was an MC and sound man. Both George & Leona toured the Okanogan to various Jamborees during the time they lived in BC. George enjoyed hiking with his dogs, Bo and Koko.
As per George’s wishes, no formal service will be held. He has now joined family, friends & fellow musicians. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and Clover, his toy poodle.
