George Lehocky Obituary

It is with deepest sorrow that the family of George Lehocky, of Cold Lake, Alberta announces his passing on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the age of 75 years.

George is survived by his wife of 33 years: Elaine Harbarenko of Cold Lake, AB; children: Daryl (Michelle) of Kimberly, BC, Nicole (Troy) of Cold Lake, AB, Kris of Cold Lake, AB, Alanna (Donny) of St. Albert, AB; step-son: Wesley (Christy) of Cold Lake, AB; eleven cherished grandchildren.

George is predeceased by his father: George Lehocky (2006); mother: Cecilia Young (2004); sister: Faye Schick (1995).

George mastered many things in his lifetime; he was a Musician, Floor Installer, Journeyman Welder and third class Power Engineer. Before retiring in December of 2021, George worked for 25 years not only as an H2S Instructor, but as an instructor for several other safety courses for the oil and gas industry.

Without a doubt, George's passion was music. He was the leader of many different bands over the years since his first debut in 1965! He played the drums and guitar, but his instrument of choice was the bass. To keep adding to his repertoire, George also sang and harmonized with plenty of talented musicians.

In 2010, Elaine & George moved to the old homestead where Elaine grew up. Together, they worked side by side remodeling and renovating the old home that was built in 1937. Other projects they took on included installing a swimming pool, where many hours were enjoyed with grandchildren and friends, and lastly, his final big project - building a greenhouse.

A Celebration of George's Life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., Cold Lake Seniors Society Building, Cold Lake, Alberta with Pastor Lawrence Poirier officiating.
