Evelyn Cardinal Obituary
It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Evelyn Rose Cardinal of Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta announces her passing on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the age of 61 years.
Evelyn will be forever remembered by her nine children: Jon (Lavern), Jordan (Jannay), Jeremy, Samantha (Dan), Benjamin (Sara), Sonny 'Gilbert', Tamara, Sky, Gabriel (Jayden); twenty eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; eight siblings: Alice Quinney, Gloria Halfe, Beatrice (John) Sinclair, Cecil Cardinal, Jane Cardinal, Shirley Cardinal, Zack Cardinal (Sandra Martel), Vernon Cardinal; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Evelyn is going into the arms of her partner: Gilbert Steinhauer; parents: Albert & Ruby Cardinal; granddaughter: Tara-Jean Cardinal; two brothers: Arnold Cardinal, James 'Jimmy' Cardinal; Grandparents: Jemima & Baptiste Cardinal; niece: Amanda Large.
Going Home, Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 12:00 p.m., to Evelyn's residence, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta. Leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, St. Paul, Alberta at 11:00 a.m. Evelyn will be resting at the Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta on Monday, December 6, 2021 for the second night of her wake.
Funeral Service, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta with elder Floyd Cardinal officiating. Pallbearers: Cecil Cardinal, Robin Quinney, Fabyan Cardinal, Isiah Cardinal, Jeremy 'Zazu' Cardinal, Sonny 'Gilbert' Cardinal, Trent Cardinal, Benjamin Cardinal. Honorary pallbearers: Jordan Cardinal, James Large, Loren Quinney, Peter Jackson, Sylvia Whiskeyjack, Joyce Gladue, Valerie Steinhauer, James Steinhauer, Calvin Steinhauer, Delia Cardinal, Pat Chaboyer, Rhonda Steinhauer, Carter Cardinal, Martina Wood, Wanda Giant, Dan Kunze, and all who knew and loved her.
Final resting place, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta.
