With much sadness, the family of Debra Lynn Masson of Bonnyville, AB announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the age of 68 years.
Debra is lovingly survived by her sons: Wayne (Wenonah) Masson, William "Billie" (Sherry) Masson, Paul Masson; grandchildren: Travis Wieler, Terence Wieler, Caleb, Aquella, Tristan, Kelsea, Rebecca, Jaden, Daniel, Paige; treasured great grandchildren: Emma, Paisley; brothers: Donald Jr. (Murillia) Harris, Darrell (Leona) Harris; many adopted children and grandchildren that she collected along the way; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Debra was predeceased by common law husband: Daniel Ridgeway (1991); parents: Steve (1993) & Gloria (1988) Anaka; sister: Diane Harris (2016); and her cherished dog: Obama.
Debra was born on September 23, 1955 in Vancouver, B.C and came to call Bonnyville home in the mid 90's; not only did she work as a waitress, but she also drove taxi for Aristocat Taxi for many years.
While alive, Debra had expressed to her family that she wanted her body to be donated to science once she passed; this was something that they had to work hard to make happen. The family is pleased to say that Debra's last wish came true and her body was accepted into the Anatomical Gifts Program at the University of Alberta.
A Celebration of Debra's Life will take place at a later date in the Spring.
