The family of David "Frankie" Franklin Collicott-Moostoos of Vancouver, British Columbia, formerly of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan regretfully announces that the sun unexpectedly set for him on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the age of 58 years.

Frankie was born to Edward Weeseekase and Flora Moostoos in Goodsoil, Saskatchewan on February 20, 1966. He will always be remembered for his funny, outgoing personality. Frankie loved visiting his friends and spending time with all his family. Since 2015, Frankie was essential in helping save many lives in downtown Vancouver while he worked with  TORO, Tenant Overdose Response Organizers, who provide peer support and naloxone training to at risk individuals; increasing safety and comfort for those most directly affected by overdose.

Leaving to mourn his passing is his daughter: Allyson Collicott; siblings: Steven Frith, David Moostoos, Cedric Moostoos, Melanie Bowles.

Frankie was predeceased by his parents: Edward Weeseekase & Flora Moostoos; brothers: William Moostoos, Norman Moostoos, George Moostoos; sisters: Wilma Moostoos, Shirley Lewis, Kathy Weeseekase; grandparents: Walter & Eliza Moostoos, Joe Weeseekase & Ella Blackbird; nephews: Graham Ahmeecheko, Morgan Moostoos, Ronald "Bema" Oatchess, Wilson Oatchess; niece: Rena Oatchess-Belly.

Wake, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, SK, leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake at 11:00 a.m. SK time (10:00am AB time).

Funeral Service, Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. SK time (10:00 a.m. AB time), Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, SK with the Band Elders officiating. Pallbearers: Frankie Moostoos, Gilbert Moostoos, Galvin Moostoos, Walter Oatchess, Greg Moostoos, Gabriel Ameecheko. Honorary Pallbearers: all who knew and loved him.
