The family of Daniel Valere Laporte of Bonnyville, Alberta, is deeply saddened to announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the age of 62.
Danny was a man who took great pride in his career as a professional truck driver, earning widespread recognition in the industry for his exceptional skill and dedication. Always willing to tackle the most challenging industrial loads that others hesitated to take, he approached his work with a commitment and determination that set him apart. His remarkable ability to succeed in these demanding roles became not just a profession but a defining part of his identity.
Beyond his work, Danny was a man of humor, loyalty, and heart. He deeply valued the relationships he built with his family and friends, cherishing the moments spent with those he held dear. His unique sense of humor brought joy to many, and his steadfast loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Danny’s life was not without challenges, and he faced personal struggles that often made him feel misunderstood. Yet, his resilience and spirit were evident in his actions and the love he gave to those around him. He found strength in his work, his relationships, and his ability to persevere in the face of adversity.
Danny will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Michel (Cathy) Laporte of Victoria, BC, and Marcel Laporte of Bonnyville, AB; his sister Caroline (Mel) Palmer of Bonnyville, AB; sister-in-law Bev Brace of Bonnyville, AB; and his cherished nieces and nephew, Courtnay (Leon) McIntyre, Conlan Laporte, and Nikki Laporte. He also shared special friendships with his good friends Ron Charawich and Shelley Rathburn, Don Burkard and Margaret Johnston, and Don Serbu, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who enriched his life.
Daniel will be going into the arms of his parents: Robert & Denise Laporte; nephew: Cole Palmer; step daughter: Chantelle Kopala.
A Celebration of Danny’s Life and his Final Resting Place will take place at a later date.
In honor of Danny’s memory, the family kindly requests that memorial tributes be made to Diabetes Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Rest easy, Danny. You will be remembered for your strength, your humor, and the profound impact you had on the lives of those who loved you.
