It is with heartfelt sorrow and much love that the family of Dakota Ethan Gorham Jones of Kehewin First Nation, Alberta announces his unexpected passing on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the age of 30 years.
Dakota will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Denise Cardinal; children: Kamila Cardinal, Kealan McGilvery, Kendrick Jones, Derek Jones, Dakota Jones Jr.; parents: Derek Jones & Mildred John; brothers: Dustin John, Evan John, Kaine John, Kolin Bush, Kole (Jinger) Bush, David John; sisters: Brandi (Sheldon) Youngchief, Misty Jones, Natasha John, Allyssa John; other mother: Hazel John; other father: Lou Cook; godmother: Bernice Amahoose; godchildren: Keiran John, Jett Youngchief, Mariella Stewart-Jones; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends.
Dakota is going into the arms of his godfather: James Dion; maternal grandparents: David Sr. & Mary John; paternal grandparents: Kenneth Sr. & Ann Jones; aunts & uncles: David John Jr., Alvina John, Gerald John, Ronald John, Clifford John
