Courtney Alfred Wahpistikwan

With broken hearts, the family of Courtney Alfred Wahpistikwan, a.k.a. Shrek, of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan is saddened to announce that the sun unexpectedly set for him on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the age of 38 years.

Courtney will be forever remembered and loved by his favorite grandson: Dreyson Chekosis, whom he raised since birth; father: Albert Kahpeepatow; siblings: Bernadine Wahpistikwan, Larry (MJ) Wahpistikwan, Gary Wahpistikwan, Valerie Wahpistikwan, Dale Wahpistikwan, Serena Wahpistikwan, Lenny Kahpeepatow (Roxanne Sandfly); uncle: Michael Green; aunties: Violet Wahpistikwan, Mary Kahpeepatow; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Courtney is going into the arms of his mother: Cecilia Wahpistikwan; sisters: Albertine Wahpistikwan, Jo-Anne Wahpistikwan, Priscilla Wahpistikwan; grandfather: Harvey Kahpeepatow; uncles: John Angus, Johnny Angus, Peter Kahpeepatow, Vernon Kahpeepatow; niece: Zaydie Ochuschayoo; brother: Billy Wahpistikwan; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Service, Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. (SK time)/10:00 a.m. (AB time), Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan with the community Elders officiating.
