The family of Corey “Baby Corey” Cordell Jona Kahpoonapit of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan are saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the age of 25 years.

Corey is lovingly survived by his father: Corey Cordell Jonas Singer; mother of his child: Reena Chatalaine; daughter: Rachauna Frances Kahpoonapit; brother: Riley Kahpoonapit; sisters: Cher Singer, Claire Singer; siblings: Kiescha Durocher, Rushinie Partridge, River Singer, Tye Singer, Valen Fineblanket, Tyson Partridge, Chance Ben, Houston Checkosis, Liam Dufresne, Lotus Cheenanow, Taren Wolfe; grandmothers: Jean Singer, Bertha Singer; grandfather: Joseph Edward Dufresne; step-grandmother: Dorothy Mitsuing, aunties: Regina, Lara, Lindsay Mitsuing, Linda, Jeanette, Beatrice, Judy Kahpoonapit, Ramona Singer; uncles: Joey, Shawn, Louis, Lorne Mitsuing, Conrad, Nolan, Virgil, Jackson, Ricky Singer, Maurice, Glen Kahpoonapit.
