The family of Cody James David Poitras is deeply saddened to announce the passing of their beloved son, brother, grandson & nephew on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the age of 28 years.
Cody was an avid lego builder who loved building Star Wars, lego trains and flower bouquets. Cody was known to play video games for hours with his friends and family.
Cody had a giving heart but was never afraid to speak his mind; he always had to be the loudest in the room.
Pink and purple were his favorite colours and he wore them proudly.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories is his father: Robert Poitras: mother & step-father: Therese Zielke & Mark Thomas; sister: Kaitlin Poitras; grandma: Audrey Poitras: oma & papa: Brigitte & Jet Todd; aunt & uncle: Pheonix & Dana Ricard; his cresent gheko: Ironwood; and treasured black cat: Lucifer Darby Poitras; as well as many friends, great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cody was predeceased by his opa: David Zielke; grandpa: Gordon Poitras; fur baby: Padmé.
Celebration of Life, Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 3:00 p.m., Métis Crossing, Smoky Lake, Alberta.
