Betty Margaret Burgess

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Betty Margaret Burgess of Cold Lake, AB formerly of Cherry Grove, AB announce her passing on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 88 years. Betty loved to be busy and always had several projects on the go; knitting, genealogy, writing personal history books and sewing quilts just to name a few. She loved tending to her large vegetables garden and her many flower beds. Betty spent many hours each fall canning and preserving garden produce and fruit, plus making jars of jam. Betty loved her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ very much and served them faithfully in many callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ ofLatter-Day Saints. Betty found great joy in reading her scriptures and when she could no longer read them she enjoyed having someone read them to her. We will miss you mom, but we know that you have had a wonderful reunion with dad and this makes our hearts less sad. Our family would like to thank the amazing staff at Points West who took such wonderful care of mom while she lived there. Thank you!
Betty is lovingly survived by her three sons: Alfred (Dana) Burgess, Darrell (Sheila) Burgess, Eric (Edith) Burgess; daughter: Rhonda (Derrick) Krizsan; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Alec Cromarty, Ken (Shirley) Cromarty.
Betty was predeceased by her husband: Larry Burgess; parents: William & Dorothy Cromarty; brothers: Melvin Ronald, Robert.
Funeral Service, Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Cherry Grove Community Centre, Cherry Grove, AB with Bishop Stephen Wille officiating. (Those wishing to pay their respects may do so in the Senior Center Room from 12:30 p.m. to 12:55p.m.) Final resting place, Cherry Grove Community Cemetery, Cherry Grove, AB. Pallbearers: Alfred Burgess, Darrell Burgess, Eric Burgess, Derrick Krizsan, Keven (Rafe) Parke, Chance Burgess.
